15 year old timid Alec lives with his foster parents in a house on the edge of the Everglades overcrowded with siblings and stray animals. After an incident of school bullying, Alec runs into the woods and finds a small animal pinned beneath a tree. Hairless and scrawny, it is impossible to tell just what kind of animal it is. Even the local shelter is left baffled. Alec begins nursing it back to health but the stronger it gets the more violent it begins to act. And the bigger it gets.
